Mozilla is doing prism in order to enter the race "lets merge the desktop and the web". You can find documentation here and easily install it in firefox thanks to this add-on. I made a webapp for Web4Web player. Prism has the advantage of launching much faster than firefox, so 3-sec between clicking on the desktop and seeing Web4Web live p2p streaming... latency is my second first name :)
You can get the prototype of webapp here and have fun :) If you got the prism add-on installed, a window will popup and ask if you really want to install it. Obviously you really want it. A icon of this name is attached on the desktop, you just have to click on it :)

IGoogle Gadget
I added a small igoogle gadget on the right of the blog. I will publish soon other way to expose Web4Web p2p live video solution. You can easily add to your own website or in your igoogle page by simply clicking
ps: I did the same on my blog and you may notice that the Web4Web p2p live video solution got significantly better than twitter app just below, handling only short text messages... ok ok below the belt, but still :)

administration note
I set up one email address jerome.etienne@web4web.tv . It is the proper one to be used when talking to me about web4web.tv :) I got more time to work on web4web now. My current task is reenabling the old while cleaning up, an good task to come back after a small interruption :)

experimentation for live without webpack
I currently doing a experimentation with the live streaming. It is currently, and likely temporarily, allowed to watch them without installing webpack. This is a tricky choice...
If it is allowed, people can easily have an idea of the service, so hopefull people will be interested by the service and install webpack. On the other hand, i need to provide client/server streaming which is known to be expensive.
I think the good choise is a middle ground. To provide only some channels in client/server download, and with lower quality. Thus the user got the incentive to install webpack in order to get more channel and with better quality.
